'Origin of Meizhou' on Meizhou Island, Fujian
Meizhou Island is a UNESCO World Heritage site of Mazu belief and customs, known for its beautiful scenery and pleasant climate. The square in front of the Mazu Ancestral Temple faces the sea with the temple behind it, creating a harmonious blend of nature and culture. This venue regularly hosts ceremonial rituals and cultural performances, attracting numerous devotees and visitors.

'Origin of Meizhou' is a large-scale live cultural tourism performance located in the Mazu Cultural Film and Television Park on Meizhou Island. Also known as 'Mazu Ping'anli,' the park served as a primary filming location for the television series Mazu. It faithfully recreates a Song Dynasty fishing village with ancient structures such as the Fishing Village Fort, the Lin Family Courtyard, and Haiyun Pavilion, presenting an authentic glimpse into traditional coastal life.

The show integrates dance, drama, acrobatics, martial arts, equestrian performances, and modern audio-visual technology to vividly portray Mazu culture and fishing village traditions. It features five main scenes—'Spiritual Meizhou,' 'Fishing Village Celebration,' 'Island Memories,' 'Defending Against Pirates,' and 'Meizhou Illusion'—along with eight interactive performances throughout the park. Over a hundred performers stage more than thirty shows daily, offering an engaging and richly storied experience.
